Twice as many Twitter users prefer real name to a pseudonym
In a poll conducted by TwitterThoughts, results suggest that people who use Twitter prefer to use their real name at twice the frequency of people who use a pseudonym or avatar name.
Although the sample size is relatively small (N=24), the results seem clear. In answering the question, “What name do you use on Twitter?” 14 respondents selected “real name” compared with 7 who selected “avatar or pretend name.” (3 respondents claimed not to use Twitter.)
The 2 to 1 ratio is clear enough, but what’s the reason? We’ll be conducting future surveys to answer that question. (Any psychologists want to hypothesize?!)

Most people wouldn't consider 24 to be a large enough sample size to draw any conclusions from.
Thanks vinnie. Satistically speaking, 24 is a small sample size. However, it is incorrect to assume that it is too small a number to draw conclusions from. It all depends on the true population size. Admittedly, 24 is a tiny sample of the Twitter population, but a 2 to 1 difference with this many responses is suggestive, which is the point of the post.
